Piel es (It Is Skin) — Curatorial Project
Piel es (It Is Skin) is a curatorial project by Yohanna M. Roa centered on the work of Andrea Rey, presented at the Museo La Tertulia as part of a broader cycle of artistic residencies and research-based practices.
The exhibition engages the body as a site of inscription, memory, and transformation, unfolding through gestures, material processes, and sensorial experiences. Developed within the framework of the Textile Seminar – El Costurero (ICESI University), the project situates skin not only as a surface, but as an active threshold where personal and collective histories are registered and reconfigured.
Through this curatorial approach, Piel es explores the relationship between embodiment and archive, foregrounding the ways in which the body holds, transmits, and produces knowledge. The exhibition operates beyond linear narrative, activating states of perception that connect memory, affect, and materiality.
